Stacy had been more tired than usual the past several weeks, and had continuing flu like symptoms. A Covid test was negative, and she was getting discouraged that she “couldn’t rally” knowing her sister and nephews were coming to visit. Stephanie and boys arrived, and Stacy began to experience increasing  pain in the upper abdomen. Thinking it was a problem with her gall bladder she went to the ER. We were shocked when test results indicated  she had colon cancer that had spread to her liver. She spent a week in the hospital as tests were done to confirm the diagnosis, and antibiotics were given to fight a bladder infection. The infection was finally resolved enough for her to receive a port for administering the chemo. She was released from the hospital and received her first chemo treatment Feb. 16. Unfortunately the next day she ended up back in the hospital for several days with pneumonia. It has been a very difficult two weeks, but Stacy is home. Stephanie and the boys extended their stay, and Scott flew in from California. Stacy has felt so comforted and encouraged to have both Stephanie and Scott here. We are all still trying to process all of this as it came as a complete surprise, but I know it was not a surprise to God. My panic turned to a peace that passes understanding as He reminded me He has a sovereign plan for Stacy’s good and His glory.  Thank you in advance for your support and encouragement, and most of all for your prayers for Stacy and our family as we face this together.
