After finding a lump and several tests later, I was diagnosed with Stage 1 Breast Cancer on September 21, 2017.  It's been a whirlwind of appointments and emotions since diagnosis, but I will beat this, not to worry.  Even if something else is found in surgery, I consider myself VERY lucky.  It was caught early and of all the variables within any breast cancer, my cancer is among the very beatable.  Based on the cocktail of cancer I have being shaken (not stirred) my oncologist has recommended a double mastectomy with immediate reconstruction.  The procedure is scheduled for November 10th, 2017.  

This news has probably taken some of you by surprise and I'm sorry for that.  There just hasn't been a good way to share this with each of you.  Moving forward, I will update the journal as much as I can.  Expect most of my updates here vs. other social media channels.
