Early Saturday morning, November 26th, Stacey went to the emergency room because of abdominal pain and just "feeling like crap" (her words). After blood work and CT scans and X-rays, they told her she had cancer and admitted her. Yep... just like that. Her hemoglobin (a protein in red blood cells) count was 5.5 and it should be up around 13 to 17 g/dL. They gave her two blood transfusions and some pain medications - better than the ibuprofen or Tylenol she was taking. The daily routine of drawing blood, X-rays, and various tests started. Mom and sister (Jenee) started this website to try and better manage the updates that so many of her friends and our family have asked for.
As you know, Stacey is a strong woman. She knows this won't be an easy fight but she is ready to "make this cancer her bitch". Again, her words.
We thank you for visiting, for your support, and for your words of hope and encouragement!
