On May 9, 2017 after not feeling well for over two months (Dr's thought it was Pneumonia) Mom found out she has a mass in her left lung and a CT scan showed that the lymph nodes were inflamed and she met with a Thoracic Surgeon who scheduled a biopsy for May 15, 2017. 

The preliminary report of the biopsy indicated lymphoma.   The final results from the biopsy proved to be small cell lung cancer.  Mom was referred to an oncologist for a treatment plan. 


Mom has had a PET scan, MRI and a bone scan.  The MRI results reported the cancer has not spread to her brain!  A port was placed during the biopsy surgery and mom began chemotherapy Monday, May 22, 2017 with hopes to stop the cancer from spreading. On the third day of chemo, Wednesday the 24th, the PET scan results reported the cancer has spread to the liver, right hip, ribs and spine.  She will continue a rotation of chemotherapy and "breaks" as she is being monitored by the oncology staff.  The bone scan results and prognosis will be received on June 1, 2017. 


Anyone who knows Sharon Clock knows she is a determined and strong woman. She is also a faithful woman who lives for helping others and loves her husband, son, daughter, daughter-in-law and four grandsons more than life itself!!!  Our mother is the strongest woman we have ever known and we also know she is going to fight this battle with the love, support and prayers of her family and friends!!!!
