Let’s talk dates.
No, not the ones you take with a significant other. Although, I’m a huge fan of those too!
I’m talking about dates on a calendar. More specifically, the ones that hold personal meaning. Some of my favorites include our girls birthdays, our engagement and wedding, and the days I found out I was pregnant. Other dates stand out too, the more difficult ones that represent loss or tragic news. Good or bad, dates have always just stuck with me for whatever reason.
August 13, 2020.
The day i was diagnosed with cancer.
Soul crushing, weak-in-the knees, gut wrenching news that shocked me to my core. This day initially represents the worst day for me. Ever. For obvious reasons but let’s not land there.
It will also be a day that represents shaky but awakened strength, renewed faith, an abundant outpouring of love, unending support, and countless prayers- the beginning of a journey that will change me forever. I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t scared shitless because I am. BUT, the ways in which the Lord has truly comforted me in the last few weeks have blown me away. He is GOOD isn’t He?! I just want to be a light for Him. Well that and to kick cancer in the butt!
So. Let’s do this! We cherish your prayers as we venture forward.
