In February 2017, 8-year old Sophya was diagnosed with ITP, an autoimmune disease that attacks the body's platelets leaving the blood unable to clot properly.  In most cases, the virus leaves the body in a couple of months. Sophya's story happens in less than 1% of ITP patients.

July 2, 2017 Sophya was airlifted to a children's hospital for emergency brain surgery.  She had suffered a hemorrhagic stroke and the doctors needed to immediately relieve the pressure on her brain and stop the bleeding.  And they did.

This page is a way for us to share with our family, friends, and neighbors Sophya's progress in her recovery.  This is going to be a long battle, but we know Sophya is a fighter.  With her feisty spirit, and your continued prayers for her and her family, she will come out triumphant.
