On December 31, 2019, I had my baseline mammogram completed since I turned 40 in September. Unfortunately, it picked up a 2cm mass in my right breast that was biopsied and confirmed malignant on January 13. The type of cancer I have is called "triple negative" which is an aggressive form of the disease commonly diagnosed in younger women. I have 16 rounds of chemo ahead of me over the course of 5 or 6 months, surgery and then radiation treatment. Luckily, my cancer was caught early and though I am stage 2, they've found no lymph node involvement or spread anywhere else in my body. At this point they are treating me to cure so we are very optimistic!
I'll be trying to journal as I go through my course of treatment. We are so appreciative of the support of our family and friends has given us!
