Slade Lyons

Our sweet Slade man had been experiencing persistent headaches for several weeks.  He was treated for a positive strep test, but continued to have headaches after treatment.  Dr. Russell saw him again on Wednesday, January 17th, 2018 and immediately ordered an MRI.  It was determined that Slade had a mass on his brain which was causing some swelling resulting in the headaches.  We were immediately sent to Blair E. Batson in Jackson, MS via the ER with Dr. Shiflett and his Neuro team.  He has had extensive testing, labs and scans.  They believe the mass is benigh, but it won't be certain until it is removed and biopsied.  The whole team has evaluated him including Endocrinology, Oncology, Audiology, Ophthalmology and Psychology.  All of these have checked out normal so far.  At this point he is scheduled to have the mass removed on Monday, January 22, 2018.  His neurosurgeon seems very confident, but we would certainly appreciate prayers for our son and his team. We need prayers that this surgery goes well without complications and there are no residual effect from it.  Thank you all so much for all of the prayers, texts, calls, messages and visits.
