Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using this site to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope, encouragement and prayer.

Shirley experienced a massive stroke on Thursday,  April 27th while watching her granddaughters play lacrosse at Lakeridge High School.

She was with her son Todd, who called an ambulance.  The ambulance came from Meridian Park Hospital which is only a few minutes away.  The stroke was a "bleed" which is not good.  A lot of blood was released into her brain.   A surgeon was called and came to Meridian Park to put a tube into her head to relieve the pressure. Once pressure was relieved she was transported to Emanuel Hospital and admitted to the NTICU, (Neural Trauma Intensive Care Unit) where she is in great hands with the best doctors and nurses who are specialized in neural trauma. Her recovery will be lengthy but there is hope.

Please limit texts to family and just comment on this website if you can as we are receiving A LOT of questions (Shirley is VERY popular).  We (and the doctors) are asking for limited visitors as this time as Shirley's brain needs peace and quite to heal.
