Just wanted to let everyone know where we currently are on mom's cancer journey. She was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast cancer back in January of 2021. It had metastasized to her bones, brain, liver, and lung.  She has gone through 2.5 rounds of chemo since that diagnosis encountering hair loss, hospitalization, extreme fatigue, nausea, and dizziness. During the third round of chemo that started in January of 2022 it  was discovered that none of  the chemo was  slowing the cancer down. Because of the multiple bad affects of the chemo and the cancer continuing to grow and spread it was decided to stop doing any chemo or radiation. This occurred several weeks ago.
With the initial diagnosis in January of 2021 the doctors said without treatment she would only last 6 months. She has battled tremendously but her health is not good. She does a lot of sleeping. Although she knows she needs to eat and drink she has no desire to do either. Even coffee and kettle chips aren't things she desires anymore. She continues to have her moments where she is filled with life and laughter but those times are getting shorter.
She still loves to hear from friends whether it's visits, phone calls, or texts. However it all depends on what she is feeling like at the time whether she is able to participate or respond. She is a fighter and as pretty as ever in the silver hair that she sports now.
