Welcome to Shirley’s Caringbridge site. If you had told me two weeks ago that I would be creating this site for my long time, best friend, Shirley, I would have told you, you were crazy but here we are. As many of you know, Shirley and Gordy have had a wild ride the past two weeks with lots of doctor appointments, tests and procedures along with a lot of tears, stress and denial.
Shirley was diagnosed with single cell carcinoma in the bladder with metastases to the liver and abdomen. The tumor from her bladder was removed last week and her kidneys are functioning normally. Shirley feels good with little to no pain and no other symptoms. It is hard to fathom she has this disease.
