Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your prayers, support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

As many of you know Sherra has been struggling with her health and lungs for the last several years. Even though Sherra struggled at times she always has a smile, lives everyday to its fullest and always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Sherra had spent time in Edmonton in October meeting with the transplant team and finding the right medication for her. When she returned to Grande Prairie. Everything seemed to be going well. We were all praying it would last .

Last week Sherra was struggling with Knee pain and went to emergency where they gave her medication that was not good for her lung condition. She also picked up the flu. The combination of the two had left Sherra struggling to breath.

On Thursday she took an ambulance to the QUEll Hospital where she was put in the ICU on life support (ventilator)
On Monday night they flew her to Edmonton, where she remained in the ICU. When Barb, Winston and myself arrived in Edmonton on Tuesday Sherra was no longer able to keep her oxygen levels up with the support. They rushed her into surgery where they put in a central line so they could oxygenate her blood for her. This was able to keep her stable but still in serious condition.

Sherra is now in the CVICU at the U of A hospital, where she will remain until they are able to find her a pair of lungs. Our Prayer is that Sherra will remain stable enough while we wait for lungs and that she is strong enough to go through the surgery when lungs become available.
