Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. Hard to know where to start when you're in the thick of it. Last July 2017 Gregg and I made the big move up to the foothills! We had a lot of work to do on our new house and property. We remodeled 2 bathrooms, split over 4 cords of wood, worked on plumbing, electrical etc.
Around October I noticed I got fatigued easier than I should and started having weird stomach pains. First I was diagnosed with the Shingles, then a bladder infection which prompted the Urgent Care doctor to order more bloodwork. Which came back as significantly anemic. Because of paperwork, insurance and a not so great doctor it was taking forever to get further testing.
Then one night I had really bad stomach pains and what felt like heart pain. I was told to go to the ER and I reluctantly obliged. So glad I did because in a matter of 3 hours they had run every test and more I'd been waiting on ~Ultrasound and CT scan.
So when your ER doctor walks back in with another doctor you kind of assume its not good. And then he tells you he's an oncologist, well lets just say it got real.
I was diagnosed with stage 4 metatastic pancreatic cancer which was confirmed a week later through a liver biopsy. The results were given to us on December 21st, 2017
