Shelley suffered a COPD problem on January 2nd that caused her carbon monoxide to rise and she was unable to push the CO2 out of her body. This caused her to become confused and disoriented. Kevin took her to the hospital and they placed her in ICU they tried to use a bipap machine to get the CO2 out of her body but it didn't work so she had to be placed on a ventilator. Due to the COPD it will be a little more difficult to wean her from the vent. She wasn't making very good progress so we made the decision to move her to Select Specialty in Evansville because they specialize in weaning people off the vent. As of Jan 12 she was responding some by shaking her head. Please continue to pray for Shelley to have strength and to get off the ventilator. We appreciate all the calls and texts.
