Thanks for checking on Sheldon's health status. It's been nearly 2 years since my last update after his aortic valve replacement and coronary artery bypass surgery. We're thankful that the valve and bypass are still in good working order. Unfortunately, his latest catheterization shows that he has multiple vessel disease on the other side, and he requires at least four new grafts.
So here we go again... He's scheduled for another open heart surgery at Suburban Hospital this coming Thursday. We're supposed to show up at 5:30 am (ugh), and the actual procedure is supposed to start at 6:30. The surgery is supposed to last around 5 to 6 hours, give or take. He's supposed to be on heart-lung bypass for about 90 minutes, starting about 1 1/2 to 2 hours into the surgery.
We're hopeful that this surgery will be as successful as the last. Now that we've gone through this process, we know that even with a successful outcome this type of surgery involves a long and painful recovery process, with a possible stay in a rehab facility. I'll try to keep you posted at various steps along the way.
In addition to reintroducing this CaringBridge site, we've also brought back the "Tehilim Yachad" whereby many chapters of Tehilim can be said in a short time by many people. Here's the link:

Thanks,
Marcia
