On December 18, I went in for what I thought was a partial hysterectomy.  I had fibroids and a suspicious ovary.  All to be done as a preventive measure.  Prior testing showed nothing.  It was going to be done as a laprascopic procedure.  My plan was to spend a night in the hospital, come home, celebrate Christmas and return to work on January 8.

Best laid plans did not happen.  Just as the procedure was to begin the doctor noticed the tumor. He stopped and called Mayo in Rochester immediately.  I ended up with a top to bottom incision with a full hysterectomy.

I have spent the last 6 weeks at home recovering.  On January 2, 2018 Greg and I went to see the gynecologist oncologist at Mayo in Rochester.  On Friday, January 5, 2018 I had a CT scan done and it was normal.

January 22 & 23 found Greg and I back in Rochester for appointments.  I had a PET Scan and it came negative.  We met the oncologist, chemo doctor and radiation doctor.  Lots of info to take in.

This is what we do know:
Stage 2
Endometrial Cancer
Contained in the uterus
We feel blessed that there is no visible signs of cancer.  However, I will take preventive measures to make sure it won't return.
