Welcome to our CaringBridge website for my sister Sheila. This site is a great way to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope--and HUMOR! (Sheila's drug of choice). Thank you for visiting and know that we are immensely grateful for the love and encouragement.

As you may know, Sheila was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 HER2 breast cancer--a very aggressive cancer.  She has her first chemo treatment today (5/15) and she could use all of the positive, healing energy you all can send..  She will have a long road ahead......with chemo every 3 weeks for the next year, surgery in September, followed by 6 weeks of radiation--AKA the Gauntlet. :(

My sister is strong and resilient and she is handling this with courage and humor.  Not only is she a wonderful mom, daughter, and sister, she is one of the most giving souls I've ever known.   Now she needs all of us to come together and help her through this very difficult time.  I have been through cancer--twice--and I can tell you that the prayers and positive energy make ALL the difference. She cannot do this alone.

While Sheila works very hard, she lives alone and money is tight.  Until now, her biggest priority was helping her daughter Olivia through college.  Sheila took a new job as an hourly employee just 2 months ago.  She has no health insurance or even sick time accrued so all time off of work for treatment will be done without pay.  Sheila will be relying solely on Medicaid to cover this very costly treatment.

I am humbly asking you to consider making a donation to help her navigate this difficult process.  No donation is too small.

If you are unable to give, we understand and respect that--and we ask that you keep Sheila and our family in your prayers as we get down to the business of kicking cancer's ##S!!
