We are starting this Caring Bridge website to help Sharon’s many friends and family to stay connected and updated about her condition.
Sharon started her cancer journey back in 2000 when she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. She was courageous in her battle armed with an extremely strong chemotherapy for six months. Her amazing husband, Paul, even shaved his head when Sharon lost her hair. She still maintained the job she adored, working with preschoolers and kept a love for humor and a zest for life. Even after chemo and 7 weeks of radiation she completed the Avon 3-Day breast cancer walk and was inspired by all the beautiful women who were battling breast cancer. Sharon was cancer free for 10 years with the help of Tamoxifin.
Unfortunately in 2010 she was diagnosed with Metastatic Breast cancer to the spine and bones. She accepted this diagnosis and started her battle again with grace, courage and humor, always encouraging her family and friends that she was fine and going to get better.
Sharon developed complications related to her cancer and treatment about 5 months ago. She was hospitalized on March 3rd and is undergoing intensive medical treatment for a lung condition at Tufts Medical Center. She is currently stabilized in the Medical ICU and making small steps toward recovery.
Sharon is a caring and loving mother, wife, sister, daughter, friend and now a brand new grandmother. Her daughter Carrie gave birth to Sharon’s first granddaughter, Grace Marie Marshall, on March 1, 2017.
We will be posting updates as we can. Please feel free to share stories of Sharon as I know there are many out there. She is certainly loved and respected by all who know her.
