Sharon is known for always taking care of everybody else. Now it is time for her to have some care. She was admitted to the hospital on Thursday night with a serious infection and is in ICU. At this time, she is sedated and her visitor list is limited to family only.
We know there are a lot of people who love Sharon and want to follow her progress, so we will be updating this site each day.
3-12-2017 While Sharon is not out of the woods, she is making very small steps of progress. She remains sedated and is not accepting visitors. Thank you for your your good wishes and prayers.
3-13-2017 Today was a good day, a few more baby steps in the right direction. Sharon was breathing on her own for about an hour, which is a sign that she might be ready to wake up in the coming days. She has been surrounded by family including her son and daughter and their families as well as her brother and sister(s). The nursing staff has been great!
3-14-2017 Another good day- great day, really! Sharon was brought out of the medically-induced coma and is breathing in her own. There will be a lot of PT/OT in her future. Started today with going from the bed to a chair to enjoy dinner (a cherry popsicle). She is not accepting visitors, but we will show her this blog soon.
3-17-2017 I know we are a couple days behind in updating the site...it has been a busy week! Sharon was moved out of Critical Care and is working on her Physical and Occupational Therapies. At some point soon she will continue her therapies at a rehabilitation hospital. She is starting to come back from this crazy week and starting to reengage with the world. She read this blog and asked me to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers and well-wishes.
