Our family has recently received tragic news. A little over a week ago we received the probable diagnosis that Sharon has Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. You can read more here from NIH (

We've been in a state of shock and trying to deal with this new reality. Only one and a half months ago Sharon was walking, driving and shopping, showing little to no signs of anything wrong. We realize that for those of you who have not received this news it will come as a shock. As a teacher she has made an enormousness impact on the lives of hundreds of families and children. One thing we do know is that her positivity and love will fuel us beyond this tragedy.
