Hello Friends. As most of you know, in 2014 Sharon was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. She underwent surgery and treatment and the cancer has been in remission since. Unfortunately, Sharon just learned that the cancer has returned with a vengeance. She has a form of very aggressive cancer in her right femur that is attacking the bone and has spread to other areas. She is at Stanford hospital and is under the care of a top notch treatment team. She will likely undergo surgery at Stanford to shore up her femur and then chemotherapy back in SLO. Sharon's sister and her close friend Richard have been with her at Stanford. Sharon is heavily medicated and needs to rest, so she approved the creation of this Caring Bridge site to keep everyone updated. As you can imagine, there are (and will be) expenses that Sharon's insurance won't cover, including travel and hotel at Stanford and medical expenses.
