Sharon Hintz

This “story” is one of the hardest stories I’ve ever had to write.  Bear with me as I fumble through my words & try to make sense of what is happening in our lives.

Once again, the Hintz family needs your love, support & prayers.  For those of you that know me from my past CaringBridge postings, you know that the Hintz family had a tough 2018 (but with a very happy ending).  Our son/brother/uncle/husband/friend – Alex beat cancer.  I am here today to tell you that, even though we expected a wonderful 2019 – that isn’t going to happen for us so quickly.

We are being tested, again.  Sharon (aka Ma Hintz as she’s been called since my existence in the Hintz clan) was diagnosed with cancer on Friday, 1.11.2019.  We are beyond upset, shocked, sad, angry, etc.  There just isn’t a word for what we are currently feeling.  How is this happening again?  Why her?  Now today, 1.21.2019 it has been confirmed that Ma Hintz has Stage 4 Gallbladder Cancer that has spread to her liver.  She will start chemotherapy as soon as possible, hopefully later this week but it all depends on insurance & scheduling.  Can they just do surgery & take the gall bladder out?  The answer is no, not at this time.  After a few rounds of chemo, the doctors will order another scan to see if the cancer is shrinking & assess the situation at that time.

I am here to tell you that WE, the Hintz family, are going to REPEAT 2018 & show cancer who is boss.  Ma Hintz is determined.  She has always been the rock of this family & we are going to hold her up & carry her through this.

At this current time, what we need most is PRAYERS.  Prayers for healing.  Prayers that the doctors involved can come up with a solid game plan.  Prayers that Ma Hintz can continue on with strength, with determination & with courage.  Prayers for rest.  Prayers for our family.  Prayers for Brantley – who loves his Grandma Nana to the moon & back.  We believe in the power of prayer.
