Welcome Friends and Family,
Thank you for visiting our Caring Bridge site. Check in here for updates and ways you can help Sharna and her family during this time.
The start of this journey, in Sharna's words:
"At the beginning of December 2021, I felt a lump in my right breast. But, vacation and holidays forced me to put off going to the doctor. Finally, mid January I made it to the doctors, where she recommended a mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy. Well, that biopsy turned into 5. Of those 5, 3 were benign but sadly 2 were malignant. The original area of concern was a tumor and it had spread to my lymph nodes in my right armpit. Thankfully a PET and CT scan showed no further spread. So now I start a year long treatment consisting of 6 sessions, totaling 18 weeks, of chemotherapy and then finishing up the year with proteins. My first session was on March 3rd. So my focus for the next year will be kicking cancers a$$!! And to add a little fun, my family and I have (or will be soon) added some pink to our hair! Thank you to everyone who’s reached out and offered love and support. Jay, the boys and I won’t be able to get through this without you!!! Love you all!"
