Welcome to our Caring Bridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.   In April of 2016  Shannon went to the ER with pain.  She found out she needed her gall bladder removed.  Unfortunately the next morning she wasn't feeling better.  The doctors went in and found out she was bleeding in her liver due to bloody tumors she had known about before.  She was transferred to St. Luke's where she ended up in ICU for 2 weeks.  During that time she had 9 to 10 blood transfusions as well as 3 embolization to shut down sections of her liver that were bleeding.  She spent another week in a regular room and was sent home.  One week later she went back to St. Luke's to find out that she had 6 blood clots in her left leg and 1 elongated one in her right.  She had a blood clot filter inserted.  Over the next 3 1/2 years she had 3 more embolization, 2 kidney stone surgeries and thyroid cancer and removal of her right thyroid.
