Welcome to my CaringBridge site. I have created this site (with the help of John) to keep family and friends updated. We appreciate all your prayers, thoughts, and words of encouragement during this difficult time.

I feel my breast cancer came out of nowhere!  I have no family history and no other signs or symptoms were ever present.

Thank you for your love and support!

Shannon

On July 25, 2012 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, or invasive ductal carcinoma.

This all began earlier this summer with the discovery of a lump on my left breast.  After an appointment with my OBGYN she sent me in for a mammogram and ultrasound.  A needle biopsy was performed on the 24th with results coming in late on the 25th.  I met with my surgeon on the 26th and just today (30th) I had an MRI performed.  The MRI results were promising in regards to no other signs of cancer showing elsewhere.
