We love Shannon!
My beautiful sister Shannon has been diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Breast Cancer. On Monday, she got a call that a biopsy taken last weekend was positive for breast cancer. Today, she met with a team of doctors who confirmed that it has also spread to her liver and is Stage 4. She will be having a biopsy of the tumors on her liver next Tuesday. At that time, her medical team will solidify treatment plans, most likely to begin with hormone therapy, which is an estrogen blocking treatment to help the cancer shrink, but she will also be getting second opinions before beginning the treatment process.
I will update this site with news when we receive it.
We ask you to please join us in prayer for our amazing sister. She is one of the strongest women I know and is facing this coming battle with faith, joy and hope. Please pray for guidance as decisions are made over the next weeks and that the cancer will not continue to spread. Pray for peace and comfort as Shannon, Ronn and family adjust to this new reality.
At this time, Shannon's most pressing need is prayer. As needs arrive, I will post and let you know. Please feel free to leave notes of encouragement here on the guestbook page- I know that she will love to read them.
Thank you all. We are comforted to know that Shannon has a huge village around her who love her deeply and will stand by her side as she fights this battle.
