On the evening of May 8, 2022 Shane was in the ER for excruciating stomach pain. They did a CT scan of his abdomen and told us he had a decent size mass that was concerning for lymphoma.
Shane met with his primary care doctor, GI and oncologist that week. We didn’t have many answers but were told they would run more tests.
On May 19th, Shane underwent a colonoscopy & endoscopy. The results came back non-cancerous. Praise the Lord!
Over the weekend and this week his stomach has been greatly enlarged & super uncomfortable. They were able to do a paracentesis on May 25th and drained 4.5 L from his abdomen.
On May 27, 2022 Shane’s oncologist phoned him to let him know the fluid came back from the paracentesis and that it showed lymphoma. They had one more test to run to determine which type it was.
His oncologist called him that afternoon and officially diagnosed Shane with burkitt lymphoma. It’s aggressive & they admitted him to the hospital to run more tests.
He will be getting a port and starting treatment soon.
Please pray for Shane. Pray for healing and comfort over his body.
