Shane Brug

Those of you who know Shane, know that his one kidney has been running on borrowed time for quite a while.  This handsome, funny, big-hearted guy is preparing for a kidney transplant.  I am setting up this page so that as there are new developments we can easily keep everyone posted.  Part of the evaluation process is for Shane to prove to the board that he is not only prepared for the surgery but for all of the after care that will be needed.  You are required to have someone willing sign a form committing themselves to be the 24/7 caregiver for the first 30 days.  Eric and I will share those duties.  


They want to know that in addition to those caregivers you also have friends and family that will help support you as needed.  We are blessed in that regard.  They also need Shane to demonstrate that he will be able to handle the financial responsibilities for all deductibles and co -pays  for the surgery as well as the immunosuppresant medications in the coming years.  The costs will be the highest in the first 2-3 years after the transplant and then the medications will be reduced over time.  Many of you have already asked if we have set up a "Go fund Me" page so that you can contribute.  I will be adding it under the "Ways to Help" link on this Caring Bridge page.  We appreciate all of the prayers, love and support that have been coming Shane's way.
