My name is Jeannie Aumiller and I am keeping this web journal about my husband, Shane Aumiller.   Shane and I have been married for 12 years and we have two children, Eloise (10) and Chase (5).  Shane is a Vice President of Operations at Golden Oak Lending and I am a Vice President at McBride & Son Homes.  


Over the last two months, Shane was experiencing dizziness, vertigo and a few other issues.  We saw many doctors over the last six weeks to try and determine the cause. Last week, Shane had a brain MRI which showed a mass on his brain stem.   Shane has a brain stem tumor.  We met with a neurosurgeon, Dr. Sweeney at Mercy, last Thursday.  He is recommending surgery this Friday.  He cannot remove all of the tumor so, depending on the type of tumor, Shane will need additional treatments after surgery. We are seeking a second opinion from a BJC doctor tomorrow (Tuesday).


We are telling our children this evening.  I know that those of you who interact with our children will love and support them through this journey.


Shane and I are so grateful for the love, support and prayers from our family and friends, particularly my Mom who has been with us every day since the diagnosis, our Holy Infant family,  our McBride family and our Golden Oak family.  


I will use this website to post updates about  our journey.  Shane and I are stronger now more than ever and I know that your  love and prayers are helping us.
