Shana first noticed a lump on her face by her ear. She went to the doctor and was referred to an ear nose and throat specialist. Surgery was scheduled and the procedure was over twice as long as expected. When the doctor came out and talked to Brent's it was with the news that there was cancer. He called it a Parotid Melanoma. More testing was scheduled and more places showed up with cancer. At this time after a PET scan, a CT scan of her surgery sight and a brain MRI (which Shana handled like a trooper) they have found a spot on her femur, a nodule on her lung, a lump on her thigh and back and two spots on her brain. Saturday evening after supper Shana had a seizure and was life flighted to Boise. There she had another seizure and they put her in ICU for over 24 hours and monitored closely with CT scans and other testing. At this point Shana is released from the hospital. She has her mask made and ready to go for radiation on the spots on her brain. They will be doing the radiation sometime soon, probably Wednesday or Thursday. God has answered many prayers that you have already prayed for her and her families comfort and courage. The family is very thankful for all the love and support they have felt, and we know you all will continue to give them. A special thanks to Mitzi and everyone that was involved in the care basket that Shana received! She really appreciated that!
