Update: Sean passed away in the early hours of May 29, and he is with the Lord now.  Information on arrangements will be posted soon. The family appreciates your continued prayers and support.

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

About a year ago, Sean was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer, which has a 15% five year survival rate.  Sean and Delene remained positive, took steps to monitor and manage this cancer, and prayed for healing.  Recently, Sean became aware that he had great difficulty swallowing, and a trip to the hospital revealed that the tumor in his esophagus had grown and the cancer had spread to one lung.  The oncologist informed Sean and Delene that surgery and/or treatments would not likely be effective and would be risky.  Sean was sent home with a feeding tube surgically implanted in his stomach and was referred to hospice.  He is unable to swallow food or medications so the stomach tube allows him to receive nourishment, hydration, and medications.  His airway is compromised by the tumor, and he has frequent coughing fits which decrease his comfort.

Sean is very loved by many people, and at the request of Sean and Delene, we have created this Caringbridge site to keep loved ones updated on Sean so Delene and other family members are able to use their time and energy towards Sean and each other.  They appreciate the outpouring of love and ask for prayers to continue.  Sean is being well-cared for by his wife and family and is under excellent hospice care, as well.

Sean is under a medical directive by hospice to limit visitors at this time, and the family is asking for this to be respected.  Please follow this site for updates and send cards or notes of encouragement to Sean and Delene at P.O. Box 1104 Midlothian, Texas 76065.

If you would like to do something tangible, Visa gift cards or Walmart gift cards would be very appreciated.  Thank you so much for loving them well at this time.  It means the world to them.

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.  For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.  So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."    2 Corinthians 4:16
