First we would like to take a second to thank everyone for the continued prayers for our family, especially for our newest addition Sean. God has been leading us through this valley, and you are all a big part of this journey. For those that are new to Sean's story:  I was supposed to be induced Sunday, October 16th, but was turned away because my rushed covid test came back positive. I was asymptomatic, but since it was a elective induction, they were not supposed to induce me with the test coming back positive.  I had my next weekly appointment Tuesday morning, at which point everything appeared fine. By the time the afternoon rolled around and we were at Sean's ultrasound health check, he failed a few of the checks, and my blood pressure was starting to rise. So they sent me straight over to Mercy, for a double check with their equipment. It was decided that Sean wasn't quite in distress, but he was close enough that the doctor admitted us for induction.

Sean was born at 3:16am, after about 2 hours of pushing. It was discovered that he had swallowed a large amount of meconium, my placenta had started to deteriorate, and his oxygen had been cut off for a short while. After they got him breathing they rushed him to the Childrens unit at Mercy to start a process called "total body cooling". He was transferred to Childrens in St.Paul, where they have more staff, and handle a lot of these cases. He handled the cooling very well, and never had any seizures, which can happen due to the low temp.
