Welcome to our CaringBridge website.  We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.  We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.  Thank you for visiting.

Scott's journey began August 2, 2019 when after a couple weeks of abdominal pain, he went to the doctor for evaluation.  During the exam they were sure that it was gallbladder and promptly sent him over for an abdominal ultrasound to investigate.  After the ultrasound was complete Scott was instructed to report back to the physician’s office to discuss the findings.  We are thankful for our very compassionate practitioner who waited after hours for Scott to return and sat him down to discuss the results as well as make a call to Sarah to explain the findings as well.  Unfortunately, what they found was a large abdominal mass, as well as 3 smaller nodules on his liver, and a very suspicious lymph node.  This happened to be on a Friday at 5:30 PM so this made for a very long and worrisome weekend.

On Monday August 5, 2019, Scott had a CT scan done that again confirmed the findings from the ultrasound and we were then referred to Oncology for consultation.  We met with an Oncologist at Skagit Cancer Care on August 9, 2019 who confirmed that it is indeed cancer but that the tumors appear to be secondary and he would require a CT Biopsy to obtain pathology so that they are able to find the primary cancer as well as stage and be able to come up with a treatment plan.  He refused to speculate or make assumptions but stated we should just wait for the pathology.

On Wednesday August 14, 2019, Scott had his biopsy done and we are currently in a holding pattern until the pathology results come back which can take 7-10 days...  so we wait!

Scott will be seen on Friday August 23rd at Virginia Mason for a second opinion, and then we have a follow-up scheduled at Skagit for Monday August 26th.

Needless to say this has been a very emotional and difficult couple of weeks for Scott and the family.  We are starting this website to keep everyone informed and up to date on the plan and progress.

Please feel free to leave an encouraging note for Scott, post pictures, sign the guest book, or share any positive thoughts you may have.  We really are blessed to have such an amazing family support both near & far as well as our friends!  We appreciate every phone call, text, message... all of it!  Please continue to keep Scott and the family in your thoughts and prayers!
