Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated.
On July 14, 2016, I went for a colonoscopy that revealed a 3.5 inch mass in my sigmoid colon and then a CT scan that confirmed it was cancer and had spread to two lymph nodes and my liver. It's called Stage 4 Metastatic Colorectal Cancer. The diagnosis was a big shock to us. We knew something was up but never imagined it was this.
I have been fortunate with the care that has been given and will be receiving chemotherapy every other week through Mountain States Tumor Institute for six months. I'll spend a half day at the clinic and have a a chemo ball attached to my port for 48 hours at home.
We appreciate all of your support and words of hope and encouragement. Love, Scott and Melissa
