In early March 2020, Scott began having gastrointestinal pain which got progressively worse over four months. On July 24th, Scott went in for exploratory surgery where they discovered cancer in his jejunum, part of his small intestine. Further CT scans and biopsies showed the cancer had not spread to his lymph nodes or anywhere else, which was really good news! Scott’s formal diagnosis is jejunal adenocarcinoma, stage IIB.
Following recovery from surgery, Scott began chemotherapy on September 9th and will continue to have treatments every two weeks for six months.
