Saturday 9/12/2020 Scott was getting ready for work like usual but suddenly became dizzy and lost his vision for a few seconds. After not being able to stand he fell 3 times. 911 was called and he was rushed to the hospital leaving us to believe he had just had a stroke. Once in the hospital we found out thankfully he didn’t have a stroke but did need a pacemaker. They immediately  brought him into the OR to put in the pacemaker.  Things were looking up for Scott. The pacemaker was working and he felt like a new man! 110% better.  Scott was discharged home Tuesday 9/15/20. We was relaxing and recovering nicely at home. For him this new pacemaker gave him the energy he needed and was feeling great!

Friday evening 9/18/20 Scott just didn’t feel good and went to bed early.  He woke in the middle of the night very ill.  My mom (Patricia)  was by his side helping him but something just wasn’t right. Bp was extremely low so she called 911. He was rushed back to the hospital. Once there they realized he was bleeding but was unsure  of where or why.  After 2 units of blood his vitals were coming back up enough so they could do an endoscopy procedure to see if they could find a bleed in his stomach.  Endoscopy procedure went well. They found the bleed and clamped it. Problem solved.

Not so fast....Blood levels were beginning to drop again and now he had blood in urine and stool.  Trying to figure this out he went to X-ray for a CT. On the way back to ICU he coded (cardiac arrest). The staff acted quickly and were able to revive him. He of course was put on a ventilator and in a medical induced coma.   Next morning they did another endoscopy procedure and discovered the 2nd bleeding ulcer and fixed it.

9/23/20 he woke from the medically induced coma. 9/24/20 Started breathing on his own but could only last 30 mins.  They have to keep him sedated and on the ventilator for now Vitals are looking great and he is improving daily. Responds to commands when asked. 9/25/20 they added a feeding tube and plan to do dialysis to help rid the extra fluid. Prayers are producing miracles.

Scott is Patrica’s world. They have been together 30 years. He’s the sole source of income.  COVID-19 hit both Patricia and Scott hard when they were laid off. Scott stepped
up and found a job to help them make ends meet. Now with all this there is no income.
