Our story begins six years ago when we were vacationing as a family in Cabo, Mexico.  Scott experienced a heart attack on the beach after we finished parasailing and we suddenly found ourselves inside the local hospital.  The doctors down there did what they could, but it was clear Scott was not going to be receiving the same standard of health care we had come accustomed to here in the states.  After getting Scott stable enough to make the flight back to the Med Center in Omaha, a triple-bypass was successfully performed.  We are incredibly grateful for the care he received at the Med Center and for the skilled surgeons who saved his life.

Following the bypass, Scott got along really well for a little over 4 1/2 years.  Over the past 15 months, Scott has been in and out of the Med Center multiple times for different heart surgeries where different devices were inserted to help stabilize his heart. Over that time, we observed his heart grow gradually weaker, especially the past few weeks.
