SCARLETT JONES

Please join us in raising money to help Scarlett Jones battle Leukemia.

On April 1, our dear friends Taleen and Lance (Bo) left their family, friends and home state of Michigan to start a new chapter of their life in Colorado. This beautiful young family of six found their new home in Eagle, Colorado; a small town about 25 minutes west of Vail.

On Monday, April 18, having barely unpacked their belongings, Scarlett was diagnosed with Leukemia. Alone and in unfamiliar surroundings, Taleen and Lance's world was instantly turned upside down.

Scarlett suffers from acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), a cancer of the blood and bone marrow in which the bone marrow makes too many immature lymphocytes (a type of white blood cell). ALL is the most common--and most treatable--type of cancer in children.

After a week at Children's Hospital of Colorado, Taleen and Scarlett moved into the Ronald McDonald House. For Scarlett, the first 30 days of treatment are the most important and require her to stay close to the hospital (a three-hour drive from their home). On Tuesdays, Scarlett undergoes bloodwork and chemo treatments are on Fridays. The post-30-day plan is still unclear, however she will continue to receive chemo treatments for 2.5 years.

Taleen and Lance remain positive and upbeat but understandably nervous about the challenges ahead. We created this page as a place for friends and family to show support and receive updates on Scarlett's progress. We are also looking to raise money to help alleviate some of the financial burden that is ahead.

The money raised will be used to cover out-of-pocket medical bills, travel expenses and other direct and indirect costs associated with Scarlett's treatment.

Scarlett is a strong and brave 5 year old, and will get through this. She is surrounded by love and prayers and has a team full of family and friends behind her. Please make a financial donation and/or leave Scarlett, Taleen and Lance a note. Every little thing helps.

We love you, Scarlett!!!!
