Welcome to our Caring Bridge website.  We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place as we all go through this journey together.  
 
Our journey into this turbulent storm started in late summer.  I was experiencing allergy like symptoms with a cough/rash, which is not unusual for  me.  However, after several doctor visits and natural remedies, nothing lessened the symptoms.  Then I began to lose weight (a woman's dream) but not the weight loss I was looking for.    On October 26, 2016, I went to my primary care physician again because I was fed up with not feeling well.  He ordered a chest x-ray and the story began.   The x-ray showed my lungs were unhealthy but did not know the diagnosis.  I was immediately sent for a CT scan and then a biopsy, all within 3 days.  On November 2, we were given the shocking news that I have Cancer, again not knowing the exact diagnosis.   We scheduled consults with a couple of oncologists and more tests were requested.   Finally, on November 10, I met with Dr. Lon Smith from The Start Center in San Antonio, TX.  He told us he had great news!!  I had lung cancer (not so great), but it is treatable with oral medication with few side effects (Yeah!!). 

Buddy and I are determined we will defeat this Cancer with God's strength and the pouring support of family and friends.
