After many months of sobriety, Sarah began using again. On Friday June 10th, I couldn't reach her and called the sheriff's office to do a welfare check. She was found unconscious, probably down all night, had vomited and aspirated. Taken to JFK north campus hospital, has been in CCU in a drug induced coma (yes, I'm aware of the irony here), on a ventilator for severe aspiration pneumonia and has also had kidney damage so is on dialysis since Tuesday. Her brain scan looked ok, but until the doctor can decrease sedation to wake her a little, won't know if there is brain damage from her oxygen level being low for so long. I'm taking LOA to be here with her. I hope this really is rock bottom and she will recover in every way possible.
