Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Sara fell at the beginning of November and was diagnosed with a pulled back muscle.  She was prescribed muscle relaxers and pain medication.  She was also diagnosed with COVID on Dec 6th, which turned into pneumonia. After her condition worsened and mobility became near impossible even with physical therapy, she was seen at Chapel Hill in mid December.  After an MRI, x-rays and bloodwork, she was diagnosed with a shattered vertebrae that was in her spinal cord.  She had surgery to stabilize her back on December 23rd and was scheduled for a second surgery.  While reviewing x-rays, a suspicious spot was noticed on her left lung.  After a PET scan, it was determined there were spots on her left lung as well as her liver and lymph nodes.  They did a liver biopsy, those results coupled with the ones from the back surgery confirmed that she has stage 4 squamous carcinoma lung cancer.  She has a long hard battle ahead of her, prayers and words of encouragement are appreciated.
