To our dear friends and family,
In early July 2017, I was diagnosed with advanced stage pancreatic cancer. Before beginning this blog, I've had several weeks of testing, procedures, and preparations for treatment.
During this time of uncertainty, tests and procedures -- and, still -- I received an incredible outpouring of support: prayers, positive energy, cards, messages, etc. Thank you all. Your support helped in a very difficult time and has been both humbling and strengthening. I continue to feel hopeful, encouraged and strengthened.
I'm under the care of a very competent medical team at UT Southwestern in Dallas; there is a cancer care center affiliated with the hospital close to our home in Fort Worth (a nice convenience).  My family and I are encouraged by the wealth of knowledge and abundant kindness shown by not only my medical team but others who have been on this journey. Again, I thank you.
My personal journey has now entered the next phase: treatment. I am using a combination of traditional and other approaches to healing, including eating a clean, organic diet that is customized to my diagnosis and treatment; meditation and visualization; exercise; social support; and, an extremely attentive and loving family.
Thank you again for the outpouring of support and well wishes.
Love,
Sandra
