8/11/2018: Calling on my Prayer Warriors again,
Please keep my family in your prayers. Join us in praying for a successful surgery for my Mom and for her recovery this morning. Pray that those that are involved in the surgery are guided by God’s love and given the necessary wisdom and skill to carry out the operation, so that she returns to full health and strength in the days that lie ahead.
8/12/2018: Thank you so much for all of the texts, calls, and prayers for Mom. Her surgery went well today and she is resting comfortably tonight with Dad by her side.
As most of you know by now, less than 72 hours ago Mom was diagnosed with colon cancer after a malignant tumor was found in her large intestine. This morning she had surgery to remove the tumor, lymph nodes and a 10” portion of the right side of her large intestine. The surgery went as planned and we could not be more relieved to have this part over. Sooooooooo...now we wait for the biopsies/pathology results and the next phase of treatment.
Please keep Mom in your continued prayers. And also, add a special prayer for my Dad..she is his whole world and right now his world is a little off kilter. #married56years #lovemyparents #prayersforMissSandy
8/22/2018: Miss Sandy Update:
I cannot even begin to express my gratitude for the overwhelming response of love and support that our family has received over the past two weeks. Several days ago we received the pathology results from the biopsies taken during surgery which determined that Mom’s Colon Cancer is Stage lll.
Mom is still in the hospital and continues to recover from her surgery. She has begun daily physical and occupational therapies. Once the doctors feel that Mom is strong enough, she will be able to come home and begin outpatient chemotherapy. We are extremely blessed and pleased with the care of her doctors, nurses and therapists. She is truly blessed and in great hands!
Mom is in good spirits, feeling positive and working very hard each day to regain her strength. She has been through more than her share this year but continues to fight!! Miss Sandy is one tough cookie!
Please keep Mom in your continued daily prayers! #prayersforMissSandy #onetoughcookie
