Welcome to Sandra's CaringBridge website. We are using this site to share news with family and friends concerning recent developments with Sandra's health.


A persistent hoarse voice and increased coughing in early fall led to a series of tests that have resulted in the shocking diagnosis of lung cancer. There are two masses on her left lung that are pressing on her esophagus, aorta and vocal cords. Additionally, an MRI revealed a very tiny spot on her brain that was treated last week with one dose of pointed radiation. Doctors feel that one treatment should manage that issue. This coming week decisions will be made concerning the course of treatment for the lung cancer – radiation, chemotherapy and perhaps immunotherapy.



Sandra's voice has been weakened, making it hard for her to verbally communicate. She is not able to manage phone calls and will greatly benefit from rest and limited physical contact with others in order to lessen germ transmission. So we will use this site as the information hub and we will update it regularly so that everyone is in the loop. 


As we share information with you, we ask that you send your love, support and well-wishes to Sandra through this site, her personal email or in the old-fashioned way – a card or letter in the mail. You have received this information because Sandra values her relationship with you and could benefit from your positive energy. You can set up the CaringBridge site to notify you when an update is available, but feel free to jump on the site at your convenience to let her know you are thinking about her. 


Sandra is in good spirits feeling energized by the treatment plan being put into motion after all the exploratory poking, testing and conversations filled with facts, possibilities and options. Thanks to all of you for your concern, support and positive energy.
