Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.

On Thursday June 22, 2017 Sandra went into the doctor due to extreme back pain and yellowish pigment figuring it was her gallbladder or something of that nature.  After running tests she was called back in and diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.  Then on Friday June 23 Verlyn had to take her to the emergency room as her pigment was getting very very yellow and her pain was uncontrollable.  They found out that her pancreas was not draining (causing the yellowish pigment) so they did surgery to place a stint so the pancreas could drain. They met with her oncologist on Friday June 30th and found out that it is Stage 4 as it is in her pancreas, liver and gallbladder and the plan is to do Chemo to hopefully relieve some pain and give her more time with family and friends. She will be having surgery again this Friday July 7th to place a port for the chemo and next week they plan to do a biopsy.

As you can imagine this has been heartbreaking news for our family but we know that God is Good, that He will be walking this journey with us and carrying us through it at times.  There will be sadness and there will be joy and laughter as we share and make memories during this precious time together.  We will do our best to put updates on here often and we would love for you to leave messages for Sandra that we can share with her.

We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
