Welcome to our CaringBridge website, for Sandee and her husband (partner and caregiver extraordinaire) Steve Prisley.  We're using this website to provide updates and ways for people to help, as treatment moves to Round Two. We appreciate all your kind words, encouragement, and silly socks (see below!).

Sandee and Steve were married in September 2015.  Sandee was diagnosed with Triple Negative breast cancer in June 2016.  After chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation, she experienced a complete pathological response to treatment and remained cancer free until sometime in the summer or fall of 2018.  She was formally diagnosed with a recurrence, confined to two lymph node basins, in December 2018.  She recently completed 6 and a half weeks of radiation + chemotherapy pills, and is readying for Round 2, a series of three chemotherapy infusions, which will also involve the placement and removal of a PICC line with each treatment. Though she has continued to work (and is grateful for the ability to do so!) thus far through treatment, the next few months will be more involved and more challenging.

Sandee wears silly socks every day of treatment as a way of boosting her spirits, and she encourages everyone to wear #sillysocksforstrength every Friday in support of all those who are fighting battles unseen.
