Saturday, August 27.
1 week ago - Samuel ran 3 miles in support of a family friend with cancer.
1 day ago - Samuel spent hours doing fun things with Daddy.
But today.
Samuel was excited to see the gun safe that Jordan just got so he joined him in the shop.  He didn't know that the safe was on supports and not secure, so when he tried to open the door, the weight shifted and the safe fell on him.  All 960 pounds.  Jordan used a hydraulic jack to lift the safe while calling 911 at the same time.  Bethany came to the shop, unaware of what was happening, and began to help.  When they pulled Samuel out, he was not breathing.  Jordan began administering CPR and Samuel started to breathe again.  Paramedics arrived and a helicopter landed right on their property to airlift him to Rochester.  Prior to leaving, when asked his name, he whispered "Samuel."

Immediate praises:
-Bethany came to the shop when she did.
-Samuel's three little sisters were spared from seeing anything major.
-Jordan and Bethany were able to respond with a clear mind during horrific circumstances.
-Jordan knows CPR.
-Jordan owned and was able to use the hydraulic jack on his own so quickly.
-The safe fell toward a wall so it slowed down the momentum a bit and it landed on the side with the large handle so it protected Samuel's head.
-The helicopter was just 5 minutes from their house so they didn't need to wait the expected 30 minutes.
-People showed up out of "nowhere" to take care of the girls, the dogs, chickens, etc.
