On March 14, Sam fell in the kitchen and cut his forehead. After a ride to the ER at Abington hospital and CT scans, it was discovered that the "back pain" he had been treating for several months was caused by a mass in his pelvis. A needle biopsy showed a tumor -identified as a chondrosarcoma--cancer of bone and cartilage.


We consulted with two orthopedic oncologists and scheduled surgery with (of course) the best-- Dr Kristy Weber at Penn.


Meanwhile, on Monday, 4/17, after his workout (yes. Workout. You've met Sam!) 🏋🏻‍♀️ Sam came up the basement steps and lost his balance, falling backwards onto the floor, hitting his head, fracturing his pelvis, and revealing two subdural hematomas-- (bleeding in his brain)-- some from the first fall that didn't show up right away.


This means postponement of his surgery until the neurologist says it's safe to proceed.


For now, Sam is in

He's in Room 261


He has his cell phone and possibly will answer text messages(or not... but he will read them😂)
