On Feb. 1st, Sam and Bobbi learned that he had metastatic cancer but the source remained unknown. After a few weeks of testing, it was discovered that the source was stage 4 pancreatic cancer that could not be treated. Further testing and consultations with oncologists revealed that Uncle Sam's cancer was very advanced and palliative care at home was all that medicine could do. He is now at home being cared for by Aunt Bobbie and his 5 adult children who must continue to also work their full time jobs. Pain management is a priority and continues to be a challenge. He has enjoyed visitors when he felt well enough and loves to hear that people are thinking and praying for him and his family. Any notes and words of encouragement can be posted to this website as well as sign up slots for those that want to help and are unsure of how. Everyone is very busy at home learning how to care for someone with a critical illness as well as coping with such a diagnosis. Please be patient with family if they are not able to answer phone calls or respond to offers of help. Your interest and offers do not go unnoticed and are great blessings to everyone.  Thank you for visiting the page and supporting Uncle Sam. + Read More (https://www.gofundme.com/sammcdavid#)
