Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. I'm going to try to recap everything, so that we can update from here on. This story beging on the 30th of August. Just a quiet Sunday when out of the blue, Sam had a seizure. Sam was rushed to the ER where he had a CT that revealed something. An MRI was done and it was confirmed: Sam has a brain tumor. The next day, August 31st a CT of upper torso was done, and when that came back clean, a biopsy/ brain surgery was scheduled for September 1st. It took 17 days to hear back from pathology and it wasn't what we were hoping to hear. Sam has glioblastoma. Thankfully it is the mutated form, this giving Sam a better chance at longer term survival. This cancer is bad. I know what you're thinking, all cancer is bad. This one though, will keep coming back. BUT, Sam is strong, young, and has us, his loving, supporting family and friends. He has great doctors and top scientists in his corner. Time is on his side. As Sam said, this will be more of a marathon than a sprint. It will be a long haul with please God, a lot of time in between treatments and many, many, many years of updates. Of course with hope that a cure will be found. We appreciate welcome your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
